Scottish Sheep & an Unlikely Santa

As I was telling the Chef,
the only Scottish Sheep I've ever encountered
came courtesy of two young red headed twin Scottish lads
who sent me one to sit upon my desk.

In this festive season Mr. Sheep
(who really needs a proper Scottish name)
 has been joined by Opus,
a cartoon Penguin who never understood he couldn't fly.

Because he always tried.

I know how he feels.
So we're working off the same desk this month.

I'm assuming that yon lambchop is a female, so I would suggest Agnes, Morag or Hyacinth just for starters!

Chef: you know, yesterday was one of those days at work that give Mondays a bad name. Heat in my office went out. Hot water handle on kitchen sink broke off...although I did laugh when our Maint. guys wanted to know how I got the water off. They were so shocked to discover that girls can also be well trained in the art of applying pliers to avert disaster.

I was so in damage control mode that I didn't realize that I'd referred to my lovely little sheep as Mister, until this morning. Sigh. I hereby proclaim her Hyacinth...a lovely name. Thank you.

Hyacinth, from the Greek 'blue larkspur flower, a beautiful bloom that grows wild in Scottish meadows. Also a derivative of the Spanish name 'Jacinta' a loving blossom.

Then I picked really well because blue larkspur use to grow wild in my backyard when I was a kid!

I'm telling you, mixed in with the Irish genes on Mom's side I've found a hint of Scotland too. :)

Ha! Sheep On A Stick!

I have to agree with my taller pal, Hyacinth is a beautiful name for a sheep. Does remind me of Mrs. Bucket (pronounced 'Bouquet') though. :¬)

maurcheen: exactly what I thought when I got her, but for different reasons. American comedian/ventriloquist Jeff Dunham has a puppet named Jose...who is a Jalepeno pepper...on a stick. :)

Jeff/Jose has made me laugh many times! :¬)
