Monday Microfiction

Write a story in 140 characters, then let Susan know you came to play.

This week's inspiration.

He’d mailed the N.Y. postcard to brag about his adventure
while she was left behind.

Shame he didn’t realize the postmark divulged
he’d only made it 25 miles from home.

This is why I LOVE these challenges! Everyone went a different way than I did in my head. :)

In truth, the story was "inspired" by a guy in high school who told all of us he was off to see the world and leaving us losers behind. He didn't make it very far. :)

So no steven, you weren't naive. ;)

LOL! Brilliant! Isn't it wonderful when a show-off ends up with egg on his face?
