Maybe it's the fertilizer

"Mary, Mary quite contrary how does your garden grow?"

Evidently ours is quite......contrary.

When I came home yesterday, Hubby suggested I go pick the first 2 tomatoes of the season. I wondered why he hadn't just done it on the way inside but he had this odd expression on his face.

The first one was an undersized runt, that made me think it was a Cherry tomato. And then there's this one.

To tell you the truth, I don't know if we should eat this thing....

...or have it exorcised.

Back view

Front-ish view

Is this the first Pinocchio tomato?

Now I'm almost afraid to see what happens with the cucumbers.

ROFL! I'd draw eyes and a mustache on it and take it to the state fair!

Did you have a cold snap after the plants blossomed? That often uglifies a tomato pretty well.

ROFLMAO. what the hell is in the water there? I think I might enjoy the cucumbers. LOL

From that first back view I thought it was a tomato blowing raspberries...

Fry it! No good can come of it...

The beauty of home grown tomatoes. Tasty and humorous all in one. You are so lucky to have tomatoes right now. Our plants are tall but non-productive because we are having an unusually wet May/June.

I don't think you have that much to worry about, but I like Susan's idea to dress it up and take it to the Fair.

Susan, I suspect part of it was where it grew against the tomato cage but the rest...yikes!

Thom; something's eating the cucumber vines...maybe I won't have to live in fear. ;)

Titus, I'm still not sure if I want to go near it.

savannah, I did threaten the next tomato on the bush that if it came out looking like a circus freak, I would leave it for the birds!

Map: well, I never did like regulations much. :)

jingle: I'll let you know if this was lovable or not.

Monkey Man: we have that problem too. 2 bushes growing right, 2 growing like trees. Weirdo tomato came off a "right" bush.

Bill: I keep picturing it with a little black mustache now. :)

Charlie, you just never know what will end up on the internet. ;)
